About your Consultation

I offer a free, 30 minute phone consultation to discuss your health issues and how I might be able to help.

What happens next?

If you decide that you would like to book a Consultation with me, I will then email you (or post for those without email access), some forms for you to fill in and return to me before your Consultation:

  • A comprehensive Health Questionnaire which will be evaluated prior to your Consultation
  • A Diet Diary which I would like you to keep for a week before we meet
  • New Patient Contact Details and Medications form

The questionnaire is fairly lengthly, but please persevere as it will give me a much better idea of where potential issues may be occurring and enable us to make the most efficient use of our time together at the Consultation.

I will need to receive your Questionnaire a minimum of 2 days before your appointment, along with your Diet Diary and Patient Contact Details and Medications form.

Once I have received your forms, I will contact you shortly afterwards to make an appointment for us to meet at a time which is convenient for you.

What will happen at my initial Consultation?

I will take a detailed case history, including medical and family history and we will discuss your Questionnaire results.  You will be asked in more detail about the relevant areas of your health, current symptoms and diet.

I may recommend laboratory testing if I feel that it is necessary in order to find out what is happening at a deeper level.

Looking not just at your symptoms but also what may have been the cause of them will enable me to find out where there may be any imbalances in the body.

Using the extensive evidence base for nutritional science, I will then create a personalised, safe and effictive Nutrition and Lifestyle plan which is tailored to your individual and unique requirements.

We will discuss your individual wellness goals together and the best ways to achieve these through changes in nutrition, possible lifestyle changes and appropriate supplementation if necessary.

I will email you a copy of your Nutrition Plan which will be realistic, achievable and will fit in with your lifestyle and take into account your food likes and dislikes.

Your Plan will also include any support you may need, such as meal and recipe ideas and other practical suggestions to help you.

If there are any lifestyle stressors which are making things difficult to implement your Plan, then we can work around these in order to achieve your goals.

Many people lead very busy and stressful lives nowadays, but this does not have to be a barrier to being able to restore balance and wellness.

Follow up appointment

Your follow up appointment will last for around 45 minutes and will take place in approximately 4-6 weeks, but everyone is different and we will discuss the best timeframe to suit your individual requirements and any test results you may be waiting for.

As your diet, lifestyle and health improves we will update your Plan and recommendations, and also discuss any issues or concerns that you may have.

How many consultations will I need?

This will depend on your individual state of health, your wellness goals and your progress. Some Clients may only need a few Consultations, whereas others with more deep-seated issues may benefit from Consultations over a longer period of time.

Nutritional Therapy is about correcting underlying metabolic imbalances which may have taken a long time to manifest, so in some cases it may take time to restore the body to a state of health and balance.

Please note: If cost is a prohibitive factor to more long-term wellness goals, then we can discuss this if necessary.

Support

I will be on hand to support you throughout your plan, so please feel free to email or call me with any questions or queries you may have.

Skype and telephone Consultations by arrangement, although it is preferable to have the Initial Consultation in person.
